Today, as I was driving to Thanksgiving, I was falling asleep. I'd been up since 6 feeding Smiley, getting ready for, and running, a 5k, and then preparing food. And Smiley was asleep. And I've been super tired recently. So I was falling asleep. My audio book wasn't helping, so I switched to Keith Urban's CD, Be Here(I think that's what it's called, my phone could tell you). Anyways, the song "Better life" came on. One of my favorite songs, ever. Up to this point in my married life, I've more identified with the "we're headed for a better life" idea. Life was good, but we were barely scraping by. We had worked, hoped, and prayed that things would get better. Recently, they did. And today I realized it.
I am the luckiest girl in the world! I have an awesome husband, who works hard to support us, even if it means missing out on Thanksgiving with his extended family. I have the cutest son in the world! We have each other. And we have a Heavenly Father who knows what we want, but gives us what we need, instead. Sometimes we need to go through the hard times, learn life lessons, and start to become the people He knows we can be, before He will help us.
I am grateful for my family and a Heavenly Father who knows me, not just the me now, but the me He sees I can be.
For what are you grateful?

Nutella Milk
If you are anything like me, you LOVE Nutella! I just finished most off a jar off making this. A couple small spoonfuls left, and there's just the smears around the edges. Do you know what I"m talking about? Just that little bit of heaven, that you have to throw away. And it makes me cry, every time. Until today.
Today, contemplating the maybe tablespoon of Nutella that my spoon wouldn't reach. and the milk in the fridge. And I thought, MILKSHAKE. I poured the milk into the empty jar, and shook. Nothing happened. Well, the milk got frothy. and I'm sure it got some Nutella. But not a lot. So I heated up the milk, and shook some more. And oooh it was tasty!
I guess this could be recreated in a blender, with a tablespoon or two of Nutella and a cup of warm milk. But if I start doing that, the 15 lbs I just lost will walk back on.
Melissa
P.S. Do you have a random treat that you enjoy?
Greetings!
My name is Melissa, and I LOVE my job! I get to spend my days with this little angel.
Don't let that face fool you. He's not always an angel. He thinks the toilet is a great place to play. and that its fun to stack cans on the mat in front of my stove while I cook dinner. But I love him all the same.
This blog is so that I can let off a little steam, and share victories and defeats. and fun things we do.
My goal is to post at least once a week. We will see how that goes!
